Whats wrong wit anime? I mean there are many kinds and they all are different, although the fighting kinds are usually the same. There usually isnt any porno parts unless u get the hentai versions and the japanese people are more litterail and excepting so the american versions just suk cause they change it. Anime is for everyone, cause anything that is a cartoon from Japan is called anime, like spritied away, which is a good anime and princess monoke all these can be watched by everyone and have a deeper meaning. Although Full Metal Panic, Rouroni Kenshin, DN Angel, Magic Knight Rayearth, etc. are more for fun, which is like any movie. There is no difference to anime and other tv shows u ppl watch.

The deal with Anime is that it (like most cartoons) is a form of moving art. The fun of it (like most animated films) is that you can make the characters do things that otherwise would be very difficult (and expensive) to do in real life.

People think it's so cool because at some point in their life, they developed an appreciation for that style of art. That doesn't mean you have to. I'm fairly certain there are things you think are "cool" that others would disagree with.

Telling people to "get over it" is pointless. Just be who you want to be and let others be themselves. If they like it and you don't, respect that they feel differently about something and let it be.

Why waste time & energy getting all wound up over something you cannot control?!

We think that it's cool because we can truly appreciate the art of the anime. We appreciate, we love, we hold the passion.

If you had never watch an anime before, I would suggest you to try it, start from an anime gene you like. There are plently of anime lovers who can advise you which one you can start on base on what you like. There are anime almost about everything you can think of, from sport/fantasy/romance/thrillers/music/dance etc..

If you have seen it, and it's just not your cup of tea, feel free to hop over to something else you like. Just because you don't like it, it doesn't give you the right to criticise or to dismiss it. What is wrong with knowing how to appreciate something, and hold the passion for it? Don't tell me that there isn't anything that you enjoy or love doing? Don't you have any hobby at all? If we aren't asking you to get over it, you shouldn't be asking others too. Learn to respect others please.

you know that this question has been repeated over & over again. we anime fans feel really disturbed by this type of question, though not all fans. n one thing that we wanna said to people who have asked this question is : just watched it! n then you'll know why it's cool. n if you don't find it's cool, maybe anime that you've watched isn't the great one. we can give you some recommendation for that.

I'm not exactly obsessed over anime, but sometimes it's refreshing to have these big far out melodramatic plots instead of having to be realistic all the time. And blue hair is cool. :P

Mainly though, I like certain animes because it's become a tradition to watch them with my closest friends and make smartass comments about them.

If your going to critisize other peoples' tastes, you could at least do it with correct spelling. And it's popular simply because it's so good and way more complex than anything you'll usually find here.

*Also, just about every genre of anything is presented in anime, ranging from total fantasy to black comedy to sports. So no matter what you're taste is you're sure to find an anime that you like, unless you are very narrow-minded and absolutely DETERMINED to hate it.

Anime is pathetic, and most of the time the shows all have the same plot.

A bunch of characters with magical powers (or some mastery of some skill)spiky hair, huge eyes, big mouths, etc. fighting "evil."

You'd think people would get tired of it.
