Usually 10 minutes to 2 weeks for the *first* tooth to appear. The second one could be far behind it.
But there are a few babies who are teething for long periods of time--up to 2-3 months. This is particularly common with babies who start teething early (2 months old, for instance). So there's no way to be sure.

Sometimes it may take as long as a week, but usually just a day or two if you can see the teeth already in the gum. Give your baby a new, clean, wet and partially frozen washcloth to chew on if he is cranky and seems in pain. Doctors used to say that kids don't have 'symptoms' at teething time, but both of mine did. MY oldest daughter would act as if she was eaten alive with a cold, and as soon as her tooth broke through, she was fine. My youngest would have diarrhea, and it would stop as soon as her tooth came in. All kids are different, and your little one should have his teeth in biting condition in just a few days!! Good luck! Now he can bite!! LOL

Sounds like teething to me. Baby Orajel does not work!!! My daughter loved it when i would rub and ice cube on her gums!! I also gave her tylenol or motrin at least twice a day for the pain. Four months is not too young, my daughter started at 3 months but I have heard of some even younger!! It normally takes a 1-3 days for a tooth to pop through, or at least it did with my daughter.

It depends on how close it is to the gum...if it's close enough that you can feel it then it should only take from a few days to a week. If not ...give it at least a week or 2. My son loves those biter biscuits.

It will take a couple of days. Make sure he has something to chew on like a teething ring. Mine liked to chew on a frozen waffle.
