the chemicals are mostly the same as any black and white darkroom chemicals, which i have been working with most my life. not a problem. it's the radiation, but the technician is protected from that, so i don't see that radiology is a hazardous occupation at all. in fact it is quite lucrative. go for it.

It's radiation,radio active yeah its dangerous. When I had to take a radio active pill for my thyroid I had to stay in the radiation room for a half an hour after I took it because if I vomited it would be considered a radio active spill. I also couldn't be around my kids for 72 hours because I was radio active.

It is the X-Radiation that causes the damage to cells. The cells can become cancerous and spread, causing cancer.

its the radiation... can cause some cancers, after a lot of exposure... has risks for unborn babies, etc. that's why you see them wear the little radiation monitors.
