It was about 2yrs after the 9/11 attack and as people were boarding the plane they saw a guy from the area of iraq. After everyone was seated and settled (lots of wispering.) Many people out of the corner of thier eyes were watching the guy from iraq (he looked like it,but i dont think he was) Everyone in that section of the plane had a "keep and eye on him" look on thier faces. and they watched him through out the flight out of the corner of thier eyes.

My friend had told me this...... i thought: gee i wonder how he felt?

you ever get super self concience in a group of people you just met or are not good friends with...like you are worried you dressed wrong for the occassion or you just said the wrong thing? You think you are fine at first when you got there but you cant help that you didnt know???

well probably 10 times worse than that...just because a person looks a certain way doesnt mean they are a terrorist. I can imagine being under a microscope because of the tone of my skin or the slant of my eyes or the ethnicity in my soul.

i am aware that many have been hurt by 911 and the war; but to each his own; innocent until proven guilty; treat others as you wish to be treated...all those lame saying apply

because we are all humans

it is sad, but...some of those people could have witnessed first-hand the planes crashing into the buildings on 9/11. i know some people that were there and not only witnessed it, but literally had to run for their lives - - you can't know how they would feel (if they were brave enough to even get on a plane). People are hard-wired to not repeat something that hurts! like a survival instinct. I don't think we should judge someone for feeling like that, but it just goes to show that everyone is judgemental.

I'm sure that the situation was awkward for the man, but I certainly understand the fear that others might have. Some say it's racial profiling, but our country suffered a terrible tragedy at the hands of terrorists and it did cause Americans to be somewhat fearful and suspicious.

Well it's America.

The same thing happens when a black person walks in a store or more than one minority is hanging out in a particular place. Or when a mexican is in a hotel or the such he or she is always assumed to be the help. This is the way Americans are and I guess were happy with it.

Yes, I wonder too. He was being judged on his looks alone. We tend to do that a lot, I am guilty of it too. That is wrong though and I know that. He must have felt so bad!

stereotyping is bad.. but as much as it isnt "his" fault for the 911 business... he obviously still chooses to follow his "religion". So if he doesnt want to be treated that way he should stop beliving a religion brainwashing him into thinking that western hemispherians are all terrible ppl that deserve to be killed.

That's so wrong. I bet he felt so horrible. Just because some people did something doesn't mean that every person like them is going to do it too. And that goes with every race, color and creed.

Well, hopefully, he didn't notice. To be honest, I probably would have done the same thing. It's awful and no one should be so judgmental. Under the circumstances, it's easy to do.

stereotyping sucks. he was probably born and raised in america and has a lot of the same beliefs as we do but he is still stereotyped because of the actions of a few cowards.
