I think people immerse themselves in an activity sometimes to avoid their marriage. The activity (too much TV, too much computer, too much drinking, etc.) often isn't the cause of the problem. They turn to these activities when their marriage fails them.
Probably in many cases they need to face the problems instead of hiding in some compulsive activity.

I think people can get addicted to doing things on the computer rather than putting the proper time and attention into the important people in their lives. It's not the computer, but the person who is at fault.

If the marriage is strong NOTHING can ruin it. Computers are NOT the devil...it's the behaviors of those using the computers that can ruin a marriage.

No. Television is the devil and ruins marriages. Subsidiary demons are indifference, unkindness, cheating, and bad personal hygiene. The computer is just an innocent bystander.

the Internet is the road to global consciousness
the computer is the key to the road.

more like a God instead of a Devil
the devil comes from the minds of the people using it

the computer is inanimate so not a devil, or even minor demon but it can contribute to ending relationships, but the problems were there already; however many people have met and found romance that never would have without the computer so it's a very fickle devil, if it is.

if a computer ruins a marriage, those people shouldn't have been married in the first place.

I don't think so as long as that person, who is addicted to computers, doesn't use computer as a mean to avoid his/her basic marital activities & duties, and doesn't also cheat on his/her spouse in anyway.
