It may be old fashioned, but in days gone by people put cheese cloth over the tree to keep the birds from destroying the fruit. The cheese cloth let the sun and the rain in, kept the birds out.

It's sour cherry season here and there are hundreds of trees hiding beneath sheer curtains, sheets, light tablecloths, or bolts of cotton-type material. I saw one tree that's asking for trouble because the people put a plastic tarp over the tree--don't do that.
(the tree has to breathe) Since peaches are much larger than cherries, you could drape the tree with a plastic "garden" type of net. I think I've seen these nets in seed catalogs, no reason why you couldn't find them in full-scale nurseries or hardwares in your locale.

Ace Hardware and Walmart both carry garden netting. It's a black, lightweight netting that you simply spread over your trees or bushes to keep birds from eating your fruits and blossoms. Not expensive either.

The easiest way to deal with this is, if you don't mind the way it looks, is to take several soda or beer cans and cut them, around and around into strips about 8 inches long, discard the tops and bottoms, so that the reflective inside shows and hang the strips, with fishing line, in the tree. It scares the birds away.
Wear gloves, DON'T cut yourself.
Good Luck

Most garden centers sell bird netting just for this. Depending on how big your tree is, this is probably the best way to go.

Check the seed catalogs, they have a variety of methods. I found the only thing that works for me is to grow enough to share with the wildlife. I did give up on grapes though as the raccoons will eat the whole crop in one night.
