Wow, I am Canadian and can't even answer that question!
Um.... generally speaking we believe in a limited free market economy. We want big business and small business to succeed, but not at the expense of individual citizens. We do believe in free health care, we also believe in taking care of the elderly and the infirm. There is much debate over welfare programs and where they should end, and how much is too much. We believe in a high standard of living for all of our citizens/residents. We believe in freedom of speech, and the whole life, liberty and pursuit of happiness thing, but by the same token we believe that one individual's rights only extend so far that they do not impose upon the rights of others.
Canada is supposedly a "cultural mosaic" (from the mouth of our former Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau) and under this guise we believe in allowing all ethinic and cultural groups to co-habitate, in harmony with one another with all groups making the greater canadian culture. We are a bilingual country, and the Northwest Territories actually have 7 or 8 official languages. So we do believe in keeping individual heritges alive, while creating a larger Canadian Identity.
We also believe strongly in tolerance, and we have hate laws in place to stop intollerant behaviour against people becasue of their race, age, sex, sexual orientatin, ethnicity, etc.
We are VERY proud of our Canadian history although we tend to be rather apethetic in how we show it.
Regional disperity is a huge problem in Canada, and there is believed favoratism for some areas over others.
We are a people who value life, freedom, and a semi-socialist government. We are very proud of our role in World War I and World War II and the creation of the League of Nations. We continue to be proud of our ongoing peacekeeping efforts throughout the world.
We really are a proud people, we just tend to be humble in how we show it.
I don't know if this helps or not... but good luck on your exam.
