There are tons of web sites you can check out. However, sometimes they will not be what you were expecting, so view with caution. Also, keep the gerbil away from Richard Gere!!!

Good site on gerbils - www.agsgerbils.org
Food - Most store bought foods are fine for gerbils. Make sure ( if you have younger gerbils ) there is at least 15% protein. The food should not have mainly sunflower seeds in it, as it can make a gerbil become overweight. Feed them once every day, about a small handful per gerbil.
Housing - Don't keep gerbils in plastic cages ( like the 'critter trails' you can get at pet stores. ) A 10 gallon is good for 1-2 gerbils. Make sure to clean the tank every 1-2 weeks. You should fill the tank with at least 4 in. ( or more ) of litter. Gerbils love to dig, so the more the better. DO NOT use cedar or pine bedding, it can be deadly to gerbils. Use carefrest or aspen. Make sure to give them plenty of toys, to keep them busy. A wheel, a place to hide, and a chew toy is great. Make sure you have something for him to chew on. Gerbils teeth never start growing, and it costs money to go get them fixed if they overgrow. Cardboard ( like TP rolls, cereal boxes, etc are great for gerbils )
Gerbils are really social, and they need to be kept in pairs. Its best if you get a pup from a breeder ( http://www.agsgerbils.org/Breeders.html) With males, as long as one of the gerbils who is being introduced is a pup, it usually goes well. ) Please go and get him a friend, gerbils are so much happier if they are kept in pairs.
Sexing - go here for sexing - http://www.gerbilbreeding.com/sexing.htm
Good luck with your new gerbil :)

Gerbils fling their bedding out of a wire cage--I've found an aquarium is the best. But make sure you get one with a lid that snaps on, because they WILL find a way to push it off.

Well if it has kids, it will eat it. They are noisy, but only when you are trying to sleep.
