it's actually very simple.

The object of the game is to score the biggest number of goals in the opposing team's goalpost.

There are 11 players on each team, and a couple of referees.

Take for example Team A and team B.

When a player from team A has the ball and gets knocked down by a player from team B it's called a foul. When a foul occurs, the game is stopped and the ball is given to team A (in this case). Depending on the part of the field in which the foul occured, team A gets to kick the ball.

If the foul occurs inside of the small rectangle near the goalpost, then it's called a penalty. And a player from team A gets to shoot at the goal with only team's B goal keeper to stop him. (by stopping him I mean, stopping the ball from going into the goal post)

When for example a player from team A kicks the ball and it goes beyond the sidelines, then a player from team B gets possession of the ball. This player is allowed to grab the ball with his hands and throw it to a teammate.

Note:
players can only grab the ball with their hands when the ball goes beyond the sidelines. The goal keeper is allowed to use his hands at all times to catch the ball.

There are two halfs, each of 45 minutes. At the end of each half, a few extra minutes of game play are given to make up for any previously lost time. Such as when an injured player has to be carried out of the field.

The referee has two cards: yellow and red. The yellow one is shown to the player who commits a very dirty foul, or to the player that argues with the referee. The red card is shown to the player who commits an extremely dirty foul, or to a player who has a yellow card and commits yet another foul.

Offsides occur when a player from team A is on team B's side of the field and there's no one from team B standing between the goalkeeper and the player from team A.

do you mean the game? or the fact that it is the biggest sport in the world? if you want to learn the game (like the rules and stuff) there are websites for that, but the biggest sport in the world part? To me it is the fact that it is the only sport that you can't use what we are most skilled at using, our hands. anyone can throw a ball, some better then others, but we can all throw a ball. how many people can kick a ball with the same accuracy that they can throw it, or flick it over there head, through someones feet, etc... think of it like street basketball, all the tricks, etc... but these guys use that ability during the game, unlike NBA players. Just watch Ronaldinho, and you'd get it.

I would take my DVD and say, "Here is AC Milan vs ManU, 3-0 at the San Siro in 2007. One of the best game's Iv ever seen. I was in the stands, see if you can spot me whilst you watch it and see how the game is played" LMAO how could Liverpool fans think they have to explain to ManU fans what football is. Liverpool have won what in the last 20 years? 1 CL. Big whoopdie-do *yawn*, even Red Star Belgrade has managed that.

There is first half and second half time for this soccer game.
for example Korea vs France, Korea must goal in France's goalpost same for France.
If Korea goal in their own goalpost the points will be given to France because France should goal in Korea's goalpost so that means it is like Korea goal for France.
If France make one of the players fall down just because of the ball, yellow card is givenor sometimes Korea gets to free kick.
Free kick means they don't have to run around for some time and then try to goal. They just have to stand near the goalpost and just GOAL.
Some additional time will be added after the first half or the second half. That is because they need to bring the injured player out of the field, give yellow card... all this need time

Yellow card-first warning
Red card-two yellow card, out of the game
