yankees need a corner outfielder.
carlos lee looks like a good option, he's a free agent next year.
yankees should
trade the overrated Eric Duncan
trade the overused Scott Proctor
and take on any contracts the Brewers dont want anymore
yankees should not
trade Philip Hughes
trade Melky Cabrera
trade for overrated Alfonso Soriano
trade the entire farm system for Bobby Abreu
brian ca$hmoney will get it done.

Since I live in Southern California, I'm rooting for both the Dodgers and Angels. For the Dodgers, there in a tight race for first place in the NL West and it's not going to get any easier. I would suggest trading some young guys (or spare parts, as I like to call it) they already have, such as Izturis, Navarro, or Odalis Perez for some veteran pitching to fill in the rotation, such as Greg Maddux or John Smoltz, for example. The farm system is great (look at the rookies they have this year), so I wouldn't touch the farm for any trades, unless it's necessary, and the rotation is questionable after Penny and Lowe. They should look for some offense also but pitching has to be the key in the midseason trade for the Dodgers if they want to win the NL West and further.
The Angels are a different story. Even though there not far away from first in the AL West, I think they should start looking forward to next year and stay put for now. I know it's a crazy idea, but they should have patience on their prospects because they could blossom at any moment and it won't damper their payroll at the same time. Even though they need offense, I don't think sacrificing the farm system for some big bats is a solution for the team not only because their inheriting big contracts, but also sacrificing the future for some spare parts that there not going to resign in the near future. Jeff Weaver is hard to trade right now and Ervin Santana is the future for the Angels, so I would tell Bill Stoneman to stay put and wait until the offseason to do something because the farm system is one of the best and it going to pay off in the near future.

First and foremost the final deadline for all trades is not July 31st, 2006. Trades can be made 365 days a year. However, a player cannot be traded unless he has first cleared waivers after July 31st. And after a August 31st, any player that is acquired is not eligible to participate in the playoffs. Once the World Series is over everything defaults back to normal.
Nobody will be able to stop the Mets and I doubt the Yankees are going to get the OF they want like Bobby Abreu or Carlos Lee. It's more likely they will have to settle for someone for like Reggie Sanders for the OF and Doug Mientkiewicz for the INF.

whether it is genuine or no longer approximately 2006 i detect the belief of phil freakibg Jackson speaking some participant (hence Dwayne wade ) or a team getting particular medical care by the league during the playoffs particularly hilarious and the top of irony and admittedly hypocrisy.. The NBA has had this concern earlier the place issues regarded suspicious because of the fact it possible had alterior motives and conflicts of interest in terms of wanting a definite team or participant to be triumphant because of the fact it became financially helpful to the league. And interior the circumstances the place this occurred earlier(all decrease than david sterns watch i'm going to upload) almost completely had to do (and benefited) phil Jackson's bulls and then for this reason his lakers! For him of all and sundry to day that's so ridiculous after certainly having a participant in Michael Jordan who became allowed to defensively rape human beings on one end of the courtroom and then on the different if a participant a lot as blew air on him he became on the foul line.and then an identical component occurred with Kobe in l. a.

I'm a Cardinals fan but with assholes like Walt Jockety and Tony Larussa running the team, itll be another 24 years before we win a World Series. The front office rarely ever does anything to push us over the top, the only real recent and decent move they made was for Larry Walker in 2004. but Larry was about out of gas by then, and the damn Red Sox and their stupid curse BS took that one away from us, because our guys apparently thought the NL championship was the last of the season.
Last years team was better than even the 2004 team, yet we choked a week earlier than in 2004. This year everything is in Shambles. Pujols missed almost 3 weeks, and who knows when he'll get his timing back. So much for that record pace. Edmonds is getting old as hell, and while hes one of my favorite players, his contract is up this year, and he'll either retire or DH for the devil rays next season. Pitching is in the toilet. Mulder is hurt, Carpenter may be returning to last years Cy Young form finally but that remains to be seen, Suppan and Marquis are both mediocre as usual, and Ponson is scatterbrained. So after my rant now, I'll give you my trade ideas:
C: Molina is great defensively, and handles the pitching staff like a ten-year veteran. His bat, however is horrible. But, with the market being very dry of run-producing catchers these days, he'll have to do. I recommend working more with Hal McCray in the cage.
1B: We got Pujols. Aint nuthin' wrong with that.
2B: This spot has been vacated more than the Defense Against The Dark Arts position at Howarts the past few years (yes I read the books, piss off). Bo Hart was decent in 2003, Tony Womack did a great job in 2004, Grudzielanek was more than capable defensively in 2005, and Aaron Miles is mediocre this year. If the price isn't too high, the Cards could use a consistent bat like Soriano's at this position. Payrool is just over 90 million for the cards this year. The club's owners need to realize that they're going to have to spend some money to get a ring, or else we'll be visiting the Pirates in the coming years.
3B: Rolen seems to be recovering well from season ending shoulder surgery he had late last year, and carried the Cardinals offense during Pujols absence.
SS: Eckstein, while not the biggest run producer, gets on base consistently, and plays his heart out. he may have to put every ounce of strength into his throws, but he gets the job done
OF: With an aging Edmonds, and Juan Encarnacion finally starting to come around, the outfield is in dire need of the likes of Adam Dunn or Carlos Lee, but seeing as they are in the same division and all in a closer race than usual, it ain't happening. Adam Dunn could have been acquired last year, but once again, we didn't need to make any changes, did we Tony? Left field is a varitable black hole, with bench players taking turns misplaying fly balls.
SP: As mentioned above, there is no bright spot here this year, with the exception of young Anthony Reyes, who tonight threw a 1-hitter in a loss to the white sox. Without the HR by Thome, and the error by Taguchi (why did we get the crappy Japanese player? Wait, I forgot about Kaz Matsui. Nevermind), the rookie would have thrown the first perfect game since what, 1999? Keep Reyes in the rotation for now, and maybe even after Mulder returns. Maybe we could trade for Dontrelle Willis? God knows he could use a change of scenery.
RP: Ricardo Rincon was a waste of money, Flores sucks, and don't get me started on Isringhausen. Get him the hell out of there. 12.5 million a year? What a waste. Last year our relievers were unhittable, this year, they throw batting practice. Thank God for Wainwright and Brad Thompson, and Josh Hancock isn't bad either.
Please Cardinals front office, do something. Its been torture to get so close these past few years. In all honesty, the best thing the cardinals can do is fire LaRussa. With him having at least 6 championship caliber teams in the past 10 years, and not quite pulling the trigger once, I think its time for some change. I nominate Jose Oquendo, who is often considered one of the best candidates for the next open Manager position in the majors.
