It is the only way I wear mine. I love smokey eyes......
It is super easy too......
First,
fill in your lid up to brow with your lightest color.
Then, take your second to darkest color, and fill in the lid just above your lashes
Next, take your darkest color, and make a v crease, the v starts at the edge of your eye, and will come in toward our nose, only take it about half way across lid.
Line both lids, top and bottom. then take the smudge end, that looks like an eraser, and smudge up, from the corner, across the v.
Finish up with a great mascara, 2 coats. I love Max Factor 2000 calorie.
You will have eyes, that people will never be able to ignore...:)

Apply the eyeliner around the entire eye. Use the eyeshadow on a eyeshadow applicator and then apply it just like eyeliner areound the eyeliner that is already on. Use a lighter color as a base shadow for the eyelid and then the darker shade at the eyelid crease. Feel free to contact me for more specific info. Best wishes

Quick Tips to Sexy, Smokey Eyes
1. When doing a smokey eye, I like to start with the eye makeup first before applying foundation. It's easier to clean up any fallen shadow without messing up your entire makeup. This also avoids the dark raccoon look under the eye.
2. First start with a sheer nude color all over the eye. Go from lid to brow.
3. Next, apply a dark brown or plum eyeshadow from your lid to your crease. Since the look is smudged and smokey, I like to use creme shadows and apply them with either my fingers or a synthetic makeup brush.
4. Next, line the entire eye with a dark brown or plum eyeliner. For this look, pencil works the best. If you want a more glamorous eye, line the inner rim of your eye as well.
5. Follow with two-three coats of black mascara. I always recommend curling the lashes first to really open up the eye.
6. Make sure the brows are groomed and your ready to go!
Here are some of favorite tricks if you do tend to get raccoon eyes:
1. Apply eyeshadow before any other makeup.
2. Place a kleenex folded in half below the eye to catch any shadow that falls.
3. Apply white translucent powder below the eye and dust off after applying eye makeup. It will catch any fallen shadow.
4. Use a concealer brush and "clean up" the eye area with a dab of foundation. Set with a finely milled loose powder like Laura Mercier.

A quick and easy way for anyone to accomplish the smokey eye effect is this simple trick. After putting on the eye shadow regardless of color, line your lids with your usual color of eyeliner like black or brown. Then take the tip of the eye shadow applicator and use the darker shadow you applied to the tip. Making short flicks of the applicator tip over your eyeliner on both upper and lower lids. Then apply a highlighter eyeshadow to the 'balls' of your eyelids to make your eyes 'Pop'. The result is sultry.

You should use the lightest eye shadow to highlight the brow area, very lightly. Use the next darkest in the crease of your eye and blend out and up. The smokey part comes in when you use the darkest color to almost outline your eye as if you were putting on eyeliner on the outside corners of your eye. Do this very lightly and blend with your finger for the smudge look.

Well I am a Makeup artist and just to let you know the Smoky Eye look is IN right now. I love doing the smoky eye look and the best way instead of wearing all black is to do the same preperation just use color from pink to blue, just make sure you cordinate with the outfit. Try that and I will bet you will try it again and again. I just dont like using black alot.
If you do this look make sure, you with use eye liner in pencil or liquid you can get that in color also.
If you eyes are: Blue
Try: Brown and rose. Warm shades contrast the coolness of blue eyes, making them stand out. Apply from lashlines to creases and top with black mascara.
If you eyes are: Brown
Try: Green and gold. Both shades will pick up the colored flecks found in brown eyes. Choose a slightly shimmer texture, and apply from lashlines to browbones, blending well.
If you eyes are: Green
Try: Lavender and mocha. Purple shades contrast your color, making eyes look dramatic; warmer shades of mocha complement green, giving a natural effect. Wear mocha for day, lavender for night, and top both with brown mascara.
If you eyes are: Hazel
Try: Deep green and pale yellow. Depending on your mood, choose a shadow shade that matches different flecks in your eyes. For a twist, apply shadow, then line eyes with the same color, using a liner brush dipped in water.
Anyone-Can-Wear-'Em-Shades: Charcoal, chocolate, black. (Tip: Since they can look heavy on the lid, use these colors as liners to complement any shadow hue.)
To apply pencil liner precisely, gently pull the outer corner of your eyes so your lashes make a straight line. Angle the tip of the pencil toward your lashes and lightly draw from inner to outer corner.
I hope that works.

i'm not sure what the colors are in this quad, but i have, personally made a tutorial/how to for smokey eyes. You can adjust the colors and shades according to how you want it... you can use any of your own products besides the ones I mentioned, as well.
hope this helps some-
