All gas pipes are required by law to have an shut off valve that kindof looks like this: http://starco.en.ec21.com/co/s/starco/img/oimg_1_1.jpg . Simply turn the handle into the "off" position. The valves in the images are in the "on" position.
You might want to ask someone to verify that you did turn it off since the valves could be different.

As any CSR would do these days, I will tell you what I think you're asking. I believe you are asking how to turn your stove off at the gas connection to either move it, replace it or repair it or the area surrounding it.
Stoves are not usually attached to either the wall or cabinetry if it is a free-standing model. Gently pull it away from the wall. The gas line should be a flexible hose that will move with the stove for a short distance. After you get it 6" or so away from the wall, look behind it, using a flashlight if necessary, to ensure all is well and determine how much further you can pull it away from the wall before damaging the gas line.
Pull it out as far as you safely can. Behind the stove, in-line with this pipe, should be a physical valve which you can easily turn to the off position. After that, you can disconnect the gas line from your stove and remove completely.
As well, in your basement (probably) there should be a master gas shut-off valve. It is always a wise move to turn this off before moving any gas appliances. If you are uncomfortable or unsure of anything, find a local licensed gas technician. If you rupture your gas line, even slightly, the consequences for you and your neighbors could be devastating (i.e. deadly).

You need to elaborate on why you cannot use the knobs provided. Is there something malfunctioning? Is it the burners you are having trouble with? Please add additional details.
