I keep myself from wearing capri pants, shorts, and skirts because I have a horrible rash on my right leg.
I don't speak up to people because I picture how they might react to me and it's usually bad so I don't say anything.
On both fronts, I guess I care too much about what people will think of me or say about me. Their potential reactions keep me from doing lots of things.

If I really needed to do something that I felt was important I wouldn't let anything hold me back. But in some cases there are things I want to do but don't really have the money for, so I save up.

Somehow I never have managed to make myself believe that I'll ever be successful enough at productive stuff to be financially independent. This is partly because my dad was of the opinion that nothing I'm good at can get you ahead in life, and partly because I don't have a very good work ethic since he couldn't stand me whining for stuff and always gave in and got it for me eventually.
Ok, that was probably WAY too much analysis. :P
