You can try an experiment and see if you significantly change it. Don't know if it will work so you can let me know if it does. See this site below for info on what to try. It is supposed to be normal according to medical dictionary-- sharp pain on the side that it occurs.

Very normal. I have this every month on alternating sides. This is how I got pregnant so easily. ( 5 kids) I always knew when I was ovulating. Can be very painful, like your getting stabbed!!!

I do. Sometimes I get kind of a stabbing pain now and then so I know when I'm ovulating. My doctor said some women just have some pain with it sometimes.

I have to agree with Garden. That was the first thing that I thought of too: endometriosis.
My oldest daughter had very painful periods ever since since was 16. Finally, they decided that there was nothing that they could do to help her, and she had a hysterectomy last year. She's in her 20's! I'd really get another opinion is your doctor hasn't been any help.

I personal wouldn't call it pain, but yes I know when I ovulate(just slight discomfort)
And yes normal for some women, not all women can tell.

It could be perfectly normal or it could be endometriosis. Does it alternate sides monthly or stay in the same position every period?
