My ex sister-in-law is 42 and having her 4th child. All different fathers. She doesn't take care of any of them. Family does. She was also sexually abuse by her step-father as a child. She always seems to get in to drugs and prostition. Her mother and step-father always step in and get her help. It's just on going.

Yes. You need to get a court order and statements from her parents. The judge can legally order her to have no more children. What is wrong with people? Those poor children..I'm sorry. They may be better off though in their grandparents care instead of hers.

Absolutely! The problem is that the government is paying for other's irresponsible actions. In turn, people are making child bearing into a type of business...why not? They get paid for them! If anyone is even thinking of having children they should first have an action plan that helps them pay for their children. Having kids is expensive!

I am tired of working my butt off to give my children all they need, some of what they want and still trying to figure out how to save for college. On top of it all I pay taxes! I don't get refunds from either the State or Federal! How does that work?

Meanwhile (and we all have seen it) a mother of about ten children in government housing, with welfare and stamps, child tax credits, etc, etc...buys a new SUV with her tax refund. Now does that make any sense? I'm all for helping those in need but we need to make sure that we're putting people on the track of education and work rather than just paying them per child. We're making lazy citizens out of people that could be working.

Besides, what are we teaching our children? That the Government subsidizes mediocrity, irresponsibility AND laziness? That was not the purpose of the original Welfare Act. It was written during a time when the entire country was in need...now a days we got jobs! Put people to work, send them to school. Don't just subsidize their irresponsible actions and make even more irresponsible citizens!

god yes! I know a few people right now who should have NEVER become parents in the first place. I myself have 3 children (had my first at 17), but I've worked, I go to school, my husband works (he's in the army) and our children have everything they've ever needed/wanted out of life and I've never asked my family to take care of my kids (except the 40+ hours a week I worked, and I paid for that!).

Yes! Simply because we as society are tired of paying for these mothers mistakes. Also this is not love if you can't provide for your own children then get a real job & stop using excuses!! Plus all these children are innocent, & always pay for their parents mistakes, which is why there has been a big increase of homeless children & or murdered children in this country. Also crime rate takes a big factor in parents like this...

Ideally, there should be some kind of requirements for having children, such as the ability to actually care for them. However, most people seem to consider childbirhting a right (right to privacy probably covers it in the same sort of way it is used to cover abortion rights). Unless people are willing to give up that right, there is no way for any outside agency or individual to control birth.

No, I don't even believe in these practices when they perform them on animals. I feel after a certain number of children a woman should be committed, because it's just ridiculous when it gets to 9-10-11, etc. But, I believe (in a perfect society of course) in communal living, and that we should take care of those who can not care for themselves. Short answer: NO.

Yes, especially the ones who have 3 or more kids and are sitting on their fat butts doing nothing and are living off of the state system. Of course they need their tubes tied.

ABSOLUTELY!!! I used to work with a couple of women who kept having babies but wouldn't get married just to collect the welfare benefits. These women that keep having babies have no regard for the life of the child. They are shameful!
