I personally believe that castration is cruel and unusual punishment. However, having two children, if they were even slightly touched by a child molester I'd want him castrated. These people, when they abuse such innocent little children have given up certain privileges...such as my pity.
Ideally, life in prison, should mean real life in prison. I don't believe that these people can be reformed or that they have the right to a second chance. The children, in most cases, are seriously affected and THEY, the victims of these crimes, usually don't get a second chance either.
If we're going to be releasing pedophiles from our system, then we should make sure that they can't injure our smallest, and most innocent citizens. Castrate them!

I think that child abusers should have life in prison - depending on the number of times this offence has occured. If really serious, then be put to death. 7 years is nothing, because a man can survive that long if he is so tough, and then might go back on the streets and do his wrongs. Life should mean until he dies in prison.
The other day I was thinking, and plus was talking to my other college friends, who commented that the men who commits this crime should have their manhood cut off. Although I thought it was gruesome, the girls commented "if they cannot use their tool, lose their tool." They really meant that if they used there "stuff" to inflict such acts, along with passing the disease, then might as well take it off. It was once considered in the legal system, and if the matter gets worse, it might be revisted and taken into law. Another idea was to have them walk naked and shackled with the type of crime commited on their chest and backs, in bold big writing!! Thats cold! And consider that a solution.
But I think LIFE INPRISONMENT is the way to go. They should have given that man 7 times forever, then we talking. Especially after a poor innocent 3 yr old, who can defend himself/herself, succombing to a nasty, old, wretched, dirty, stinky sicko!!

Yes life means life..or should anyway..I think I'd leave it up to the state or judge to deem sentencing, but I hope the laws harden for any crimes against children..and any horrific crimes..Even the deaths of those put to death havent influenced the sickest minds in society..Their sickness goes beyond reason or logic..The victims left behind in a crime case should be heard by the courts and have some influence in the sentencing proceedures as well in my opinion..Good question by the way...=)

Pedophiles belong in jail forever. The true ones are sexually attracted to children like I am sexually attracted to women (at least some of them)!! They ARE NOT going to change their primary sexual orientation and neither are you!!
Pedophiles have hundreds of victims before caught the first time and thousands of acts, but they are the most difficult to prove and when they are sentenced, they get the lightest sentence of all felons!!
As most sexual offenders are familial, it is often covered up and when it is discovered the mother will often side with the perpetrator against her own child!! That's why CPS ends up with so many of these kids and relative placements are usually out!
Can you imagine the two most powerful people in your life doing that to you!! It disgusts me and I investigated it for 16 years!

I say let the parents of the abused child go at them.
Ever read A Time to Kill by John Grisham? Carl had the right idea in that book.

Personally I would prefer them to go in for life and this to mean life. there is always the danger of urges being expressed as violence after castration, also I don't want them to enjoy freedom when they have destroyed lives.

I've said this before, but I'm a strong believer in realistic training for our armed, and special, forces.
If your gonna kill someone, let the army use them for practise.
I'm sure castration would be included somewhere.

Yeah.
But some people actually serve life in prison
which I think is good
but when they just stay in prison for like 6 years or so
and then they'll kill them isn't fair they should suffer
