One morning my husband and I went out to the car and his car was parked in the lot outside out upper scale apt. complex. Theives had stolen the Ford logo off his 96 Thunderbird, why? Can I replace this? There's a big glue mark left now. :(

Step 1: remove the old adhesive carefully with a hair dryer. There are instructions for this all over the internet.

Step 2: either buy and apply a new logo, or ride around without one -- these days, it's actually somewhat trendy to pull all the "facist corporate branding logos" off your car.

Since you describe your apartment complex as "upper [sic] scale", I assume that you live in a nice building, but in a mediocre neighborhood. So your neighborhood is probably gentrifying, and the poorer teens who have lived there all their lives are pissed off, and nuisance vandalism/petty theft like this is a way to feel like they're punishing you for invading "their" territory.

But that's just a guess.

You can order a replacement from any Ford dealer. It will come with the adhesive tape to install it!

Usually things like that are stolen by kids who's parents have not done a good job in raising them.

ok. right here in the south of england we did that a protracted time in the past, Santa now could be provided in, craps in the hearth, pulls the tree down and steals the television. he's Santa's third cousin thrice bumped off called Scouser O'Christmas.

Just use some paint safe chemical and remove the glue, putting on another logo might be inviting someone else to take it again.

DON'T GO TO FORD DEALER OR ANY DEALER. They don't cost a few bucks. Their expansive. The cheapest way that I found is to go to a Junkyard and yank one out for 3 buck or hide them >_-. People pull those tag off because they either want to make fun of you or they love to collect it.

There's no reason for this.. It's just some punk kids.

I don't know any other way to get a new one, other than maybe calling the ford company.

I have seen lots of homemade front license plates with the Ford Oval nameplate. Maybe someone took yours to make themselves one.
