there is good nutritional value in mushrooms. Personally I do not care for them that much.
Only a small percentage of mushrooms are edible! DO NOT EAT A MUSHROOM UNLESS YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT IT IS! Some mushrooms are very poisonous and can make you very ill or cause death. Even the pollen spores of some mushrooms can cause death! If you bump some mushrooms you can see the spores float out like a little tan-brown cloud.
Be very careful when it comes to mushrooms!

There are thousands of varieties of Mushrooms and only approximately 25 are not poisonous to humans. White button or field Mushrooms are a source of protein and vitamin B12. For this reason, Mushrooms are sometimes described as being the 'meat' of the vegetable kingdom. Mushrooms are also low in calories and a good source of the mineral potassium. The nutritional value of Mushrooms can be damaged through excessive heat. Avoid boiling or deep-frying Mushrooms. Steaming or eating Mushrooms raw is the best way to retain and absorb the nutritional value of this vegetable

Many mushrooms are poisonous and unfortunately some look like the edible mushrooms. Be very careful.
Here's a site where a dog died from eating mushrooms in the backyard: http://www.boston-terriers.com/mushroom.htm
Here is a list of poisonous mushrooms:

Nutritional value: Mushrooms are known to offer high-quality protein, vitamins, unsaturated fatty acids and fiber, but a precise carbohydrate breakdown had been elusive, researchers said. (Dr. Joseph Mercola website)

As for the nutritional value of mushrooms - that I do not know, but what I do know is that all mushroom are NOT edible.
Please, for your own safety, and that of your family, only eat mushrooms that you buy in the supermarket.
Have a lovely rest of the evening.

Edible mushrooms are used extensively in cooking, in many cuisines. Though commonly thought to contain little nutritional value, many varieties of mushrooms are high in fibre and protein, and provide vitamins such as thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B2), niacin (B3), biotin (B7), cobalamins (B12) and ascorbic acid (C), as well as minerals, including iron, selenium, potassium and phosphorus. However, a number of species of mushrooms are poisonous, and these may resemble edible varieties, although eating them could be fatal.

I read somewhere some years ago that if you were to eat nothing but mushrooms, you would starve to death. that's how much nutrition is in them. Be careful, some 'shrooms are deadly poisonous.
