Reyes is a good pitcher, but do not expect him to get consistent playing time this season. The Cardinals have a great pitching staff (although they've been in a funk lately) - Carpenter, Mulder, Marquis, Suppan and Ponson. If you're in a keeper league, then definitely get him, if not he's worth dropping your worst pitcher given the current pitching woes for the Cardinals.

Ponson has been solid, but has been sent to the bullpen for some reason. From what I understand, he hasn't faired all that well against some of the AL teams the Cards will be facing this week, and LaRussa was wanting to shakeup the starters before the All Star break. Marquis got rocked the other day, but has pitched pretty well this year. Carpenter is the current ERA leader in the NL, and last year's Cy Young winner. Suppan, like Marquis, pitches well in stretches. However, Reyes will have some value with Mulder (who has not been pitching well in his last 5 games) going on the DL with a shoulder strain yesterday.

Reyes has looked pretty good and is worth keeping around for a little bit, especially with Mulder on the DL.

I believe last night's game was his second loss, and it was a one hitter. For his young career his stats look like this: 2-2, 2.16 ERA, 26-6 K-BB ratio, 16 hits and 8 ER in 33.1 innings. That's a pretty good line wherever you are. He'll be in the Cardinals rotation next season (especially since four of their starters are free agents at the end of the season).

Don't put any stock into Anthony Reyes. He's just a stop gap while other pitchers are taking a break or out with injuries. He's not a regular and he's questionable. Not sure about Billingsly, but I wouldn't put alot of stock in him either. If you must take one of these guys, take Doug Davis since he has a longer and more consistent career. At least you know what to expect from him.

This is weird, I played High School Ball with Anthony Reyes over here in Whittier, CA and seeing him almost throw a no-hitter was pretty cool! I would say pick up this guy because he loves the game of baseball and improves the more games he plays! I wanna throw this out there too, I hit a ball well over 300ft off of this guy when we were freshman in a practice game, I can now say I ripped a Major League Pitcher!

Reyes is solid and should be picked up. Ponson was considering asking for his release because he didn't want to be in the pen. Mulder and Poson have been horrible for the last couple months and Mulder going to the DL with no apparent REAL injury are signs the Cardinals are looking to shake things up. I think the Cardinals will have Reyes in the rotation until he starts to stumble which I isn't going to be anytime soon.

He is a good pitcher and I'm disappointed he didn't get the win last week and anything to help the Card's pitching.
Go CARDS!!!
