I think the asker is absolutely correct that both liberal extremists and conservative extremists are both very similar to the Islamic extremists, but I believe the conservatives are a little bit more similar to Islamic extremism because they both tend to draw heavily on religion, are rarely well educated, and tend to share the same close mindedness, and lack of individualist thinking, and militancy.

To a certain degree, yes. Many people on the both side just spew the same rhetoric as the party line. See Limbaugh. See Gore. And then democrats and republicans can't seem to think for themselves. These are the "I will never vote for democrat" or "I will never vote for republican" people.
But most people do see that the politician that they voted for, doesn't represent them perfectly, but better than others. But they want to support that politician, so publicly they don't disagree even when the voter thinks his candidate was wrong.
The proof is right here. Many people expressing their views. To be honest, I don't think that would happen under Sharia Law. I'm sure it wouldn't happen.
And of course, there's the obvious, even if you are right that people are just regurgitating political ideology. They still had the choice between several views. Under Sharia Law, you have just two choices: conform with no dissension or persecution that may very likely lead to death.

Oh that would frightening to believe that its the people that have become the parrots on our leaders. I believe it is the other way around. Each party should speak for their constituents. One thing liberals and conservative agree on is that murder and slaughter of innocent people is not the right thing to do. Yes we all believe in our cause, its how we execute our beliefs that separates civility from terrorists.

The conservatives and liberals in the USA pretend to work for the welfare of their country and countrymen, while Islamic extremists pretend to work for God's interest and for the satisfaction of his prophet Mohammad. The first are working for earth on earth, while the second are working for heaven on earth. And most people are good believers who got lost while winning their bread.

You assume that we are all uninformed...while it is true that many are...there are some of us that have degrees in this area....and have studied it for years...
And the only people comparable to Islamic extremists are the Hitlers, Husseins, Napoleons of the world......the closest we have in the US was Timothy McVeigh..

Very simple, Conservatives and Liberals in the United States live in Western Culture.
Radical Islamic Fundamentalists want to destroy our way of life. They see our way of life full of sins, and want to kill us over it.
Conservatives are real Americans, they want the terrorists dead, and "American" Liberals want to give these people who want to kill us and change our way of life, Geneva protection, rights that United States citizens have, and not want to torture them.
As Bill O'Reilly says "Who's lookin' out for you?"
I say, the Conservatives.
