If Andre Johnson and Domanick Davis can stay healthy and the Houston O-Line doesn't decide to tank the season and let David Carr get hammered senseless agan, the Texans have a shot ... but not a great one. Their defense still lacks powerhouse strength unless Mario Williams and Dunta Robinson both start deilvering the goods.
Forecast for the Texans 2006 season: 7-9

You mean 2006 or 2007? They may be 8-8 or 9-7 in 2007, but in 2006 they will still stink, maybe 6-10 at best. Give them time to grow. they have a good coach now, so they should be able to win, in time. Also, David Carr is a better quarterback than people think he is. The Texans may be good in 2008 or 2009.

what happens with the Texans starts and ends with David Carr, that's why they went from 7-9 to 2-14. it's not just the offensive line or his coaching staff. neither was that great granted, but if u seen as many games as I have in their stadium, u'd realize Carr needs a lot of work and the line isn't that bad. they were a great run blocking team and a decent pass blocking unit. Carr gets gun shy and doesn't let go of the ball. usually someone who has been sacked as many times as he has would be trigger happy not gun shy. not to mention at times it seems as though he doesn't have the respect of his teammates. if Kubiak can't make Carr into a leader and a better Qb, they'll never be better than .500. he has the tools around him; i.e. 2 all pro wrs, a good tailback, a decent line(line looks better when u play better, worse when u play worse).
i was a proponent of drafting Vincent Young. he'll win championships, Carr i really doubt will(especially in a Texans uni).
2006 record 6-10
2007 record 8-8 at best
it won't be because of Carr though

Kubiak will build a very good offense in Houston and I think you'll see Carr grow into a top notch NFL QB. How will that relate to next year? Too early in the process but I think you'll see improvements this coming year but give Kubiak a good 3 or 4 years to build the team he wants.

They will improve but they won't make the playoffs. They are really going to be sorry that they passed up on Reggie Bush. HUGE MISTAKE.
