Chicago of course! There is tons to do there. There is Navy Pier, TONS of boat rides you can take on Lake Michigan, the Sears Tower, the Hancock Tower. There are cool musicals, WICKED is still playing so if you havn't already seen then you definatly should because it's AMAZING! There are also lots of museums like the Art Institute, Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium and Museum of Science and Industry.

Rock Island and Moline Illinois have some neat attractions. Moline has John Deere and river cruises. Rock Island has a casino. There are a few malls in the area, and there is a local baseball team. On the 30th of June, and 1st and 2nd of July is a blues fest. There are also a few zoos in the area.
Chicago is another place to go, especially for a weekend. Starved Rock State Park in Utica Illinois, Springfield to learn about the state and Lincoln, and Wild Cat Den, I'm not sure where that is, but those are good day trips. Good luck with whatever you choose.

A great day trip depends on whether you like inside activites or outside activites.
Inside Activities would be the Cantigny War memorial. It is about the First Division (AKA the Big Red One) during WWI and WWII.
Outside Activities is Starved Rock State park, on I-80 just outide of Utica Illinois.

Theres alot of history and things to see in Springfield. My bf and I drove down there for the weekend, saw abunch of great sites. The old state capital, the new state capital, Lincolns tomb, Lincolns home and a few others. Also, Sonic was cool to eat at, its a totally different set up compared to the fast food restaurants out here. First time to one, since I live near Chicago and there isn't one around there.

Starved Rock State Park near Utica, Ill. Nice walking/hiking trails, a cool cave thingy with a mini waterfall, lots of trees, fishing. Takes about two hours to get there from Chicago.

OMG if you go to Chicago you will be so lucky! At the field museum there is a King Tut exhibit that hardly ever travels and it is only coming to L.A., New York and Chicago. You have to order tickets on-line. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity!
