Why has there been so little coverage of the report today that we have discovered over 500 WMD in Iraq?

The same reason that we hear every day that we are losing the Long War: the left-wing media. Their agenda is to bring down the President in any way they can, even if it means being treacherous to America.
I have never seen anything like what is going on now in the mainstream media and I have been a "newshound" all of my life.
In the old days, some of the Democrats in the House and Senate would have been brought up on charges of sedition but for some reason, they are lionised by the left-wing media. I am embarrassed about all of this stuff.
The other reason is because most of the WMD that were in Iraq was smuggled out of the country proir to the war by members of the UN Security Council, namely the Russians and the French. They were transported to the Bekkaa Valley in Syria. The risk that we expose them is not now in our best interest, especially since the Rus are also big allies with Iran and sell many weapons to North Korea. We can use this as a bargaining chip. I worry, though, that our time is running out.

Because we did not discover them today. The document was declassified stating that 500 inactive WMD were found. The WMD were from the Iran-Iraq war and the chemical were ineffective. As the WMD expert was quoted, "there are more dangerous chemicals under your sink". Damn that liberal media, giving all the facts. Nothing like that Fair and Balance Fox news reporting "WMDS found".

The answer to your question is very simple, you are watching CNN or some other left wing operation. Did you hear about the 1500 artillery shells built to dispense nerve agents? Did you hear about the mobile "fertilizer" labs with hidden compartments and camouflage paint? Did you hear about the lab disguised as a house complete with 5 tons of chemicals that could be used to make ryson (Sp?)? The list is nearly endless. I don't understand why the administration hasn't paraded a bunch of this stuff in front of the American people.


If you really want to learn about their "unbiased" reporting read "BIAS" by Bernard Goldberg. I was more than aware of a problem with most "news" outlets in the US I just wasn't aware of how extensive it is. Every incident in the book is referenced and can be easily checked.

Wow. Liberals, you ALMOST had a point about how Bush lied, people died.

However, Kerry, Clinton, Kennedy, and every other liberal democrat would then also deserve the label "liberals lied, people died." because they supported with thier vote this "illegal" war that "only Bush wants".

What about international consensus that Saddam had WMDs? What about the fact that he had used them against Iran in the Iran-Iraq war, and against his own citizens, to put them in mass graves? We found those mass graves. Did you know that? He's Hitler, plain and simple, and you want Hitler to live, and you call the allied commander who is fighting Hitler a Hitler himself.

What about the chemical weapons we found? The yellow cake uranium? The weapons manufacturing facilities that were cleaned out somewhat when we took over a year to invade Iraq?

Explain all of this without using the words "Bush" "Republican" or "conspiracy"

What is funny is that most of the people here do not realize that they really did find them.

They actually found these WMD's in the last few days people. Bush and the rest of the world was right.. Heck, even Clinton was right. Just need to deal with getting the rest of them recovered and destroyed.

All WMD's that was found was built before 1992 and was no more effective as weapons. So what is the big deal we knew he had those weapons back then but by time we invaded they were useless. Only a twerp would say liberal media. I have heard it on every newscast and it was in my local paper this morning. Just a bunch of whiny repuglicans would say stuff like that.

this information has been out there for almost 6 months - over 3000 documents found describing WMD's and development programs and storage and hiding of such - along with satellite imagery of heavy truck traffic to Syria in the weeks before initial invasion. Any reporter who reports all this now has to back up and say he lied for the last 3 years .

Heaven forbid we actually get news of an ~accomplishment~ out of Iraq!! The media are so used to deaths and attacks that they don't know how to cover news of a WMD discovery!!!

Because those "WMDs" are so outdated an unusable, it would be embarrassing to report them as anything other than that. What was found was made pre-1991 and degraded. Let's be clear on that.
