im in love with the state...just because i was born here and had to leave....and its so sunny and refreshing and i love it bunches!!!!

I moved to California from Hawaii in 1983. I've travelled to and lived in probably around 30 states or so since that time. After all this, I still keep coming back to CA.
I think CA is the best state of the Union for the following reasons. Some states may do better in one or two of the reasons below, but no state offers all of this:
1. Wonderful weather
2. Good skiing/snowboarding
3. Great beaches and marinas
4. Amazing variety of food ... probably the best selection in the entire world
5. Great public universities
6. Lots of golf courses
7. Lots of local and nearby vacation destinations (San Diego, San Fran, Lake Tahoe, Las Vegas, Catalina Island, etc..)
8. The most innovative companies/employers
9. Friendly people
10. Lots and lots of shopping
The only negative I can think of is the high cost of real estate. But I guess there's a good reason for that!

i like california and i was born there also but havent lived there since i was 16, i am 28 now. I wouldnt ever move back though. it cost way too much to live there. I live on the east coast now. Its nice and GREEN here.

i would not want to live anywhere else. i have been all over the us and i am always happy to get back home. i like the culture, beautiful scenery and the great weather.
