Ive been playing soccer for almost 14 years now, and i still can't kick a ball consistently without spin. I tried angling my foot outward, keeping it low so my toe rubs across the grass, keeping my knee bent over the ball, following thru, everything...but only about 50% of the time im kicking the ball without spin. I try to reinact the exact same motions of when i kicked the ball without spin, but i can't seem to figure out what is the small factor that keeps a ball from spinning. Thanks for your help.

Don't listen to any of the above. To kick a ball far, you go through it with your laces (top of the boot) Through it meaning 1 inch below center of the ball. It should look sorta like a golf drive where it starts low then rises before coming back down. (no where near as dramatic, but noticeable) The farther you try to kick it, the more accuracy you lose. Get used to driving it first. Even if its a short distance. Then progressively hit it farther. This would be a standard goal kick technique.

i used to play socccer but sucked so this may not be any helpbut i think mostly its where u kick it. try kicking it in the centre as opposed to underneath. well a bit underneath so it goes up but not much.andmake sure the boot hits the ball for only liek a touch, if ur boot drags along the all its going to push it into a spin.. right? i duno. just guessing

I don't think it would act as a knuckleball anyhow, if that's what your going for.

The knuckleball action is caused by the the disturbance in the air flow caused by laces of the baseball. The soccer ball is bigger with less pronounced laces, so it probobly wouldn't be so effective, anyhow.

strike through the ball not around it take a run up and hit it with you toes pointing downward so the bulk of the ball hits your bootlaces it will not spin because you have hit straight through the ball
