I am bilingual and want some of the games that Japan offers, but can I play US games and vive-versa? Anyone know?

Yes. Nintendo DS systems do not contain region-locks like other video game consoles. You will be able to play American and Japanese games on a Japanese DS. The same rule applies to American DS systems.

DS runs on a cartrige, and all cartrige games are region free, only discs can be region coded. Its been this way for as long as there have been cartriges, so even going back as recent as the N64, there were no problems playing import games in english consoles or vice versa.

Bottom line, go ahead and import the DS, it won't affect gameplay at all, and a lot of the time Japan offers a lot more of variety in both console styles and games

no.. if you import the console, you will have to import the games.

and they will be in a foregn language..

be patient and wait to get it from over here
