Pump up your tires to maximum allowable pressure to lower the rolling resistance. Adjust the throttle cable to ensure you are getting maximum wide-open throttle. Make sure your wheel bearings aren't binding and your brakes aren't dragging.

Go on diet and lose some weight, and use the money you save to buy some quality synthetic two-stroke oil --- and it's a helluva lot safer than latching onto the wheelwell of a passing Camaro.

Take off exhaust system and check the welds where it bolts to cylinder. smooth them down with a round file, make sure you refit it without any leaks and make sure the silencer is packed as tight as you can get it with fiberglass wadding(if its missing or leaking it changes tuned length, makes more noise but goes slower) remove cylinder and take off bottom piston ring, dont break it as you'll need it to replace the top one when it wears out (less friction so it revs a little bit higher) Without spending any money thats all you can do.

Put mothballs in the gastank , mothballs have ether in them , which is the main ingredient in starting fluid. Not too many though, five or six per tank
