I was wondering what you Yahoo Harry Potter fans thought about Remus Lupin from the Harry Potter series. Namely, who he should be paired with. The two most common pairings for him are Sirius and Tonks. As a slasher, I prefer Sirius/Remus, but what do you guys think? Answers other than Sirius and Tonks are fine, too! Those are just in the question line since they are the most popular.

Ooh. Kinda wanted to point out that I didn't mean a canon only pairing. I meant Remus/Alive!Sirius. I meant which character do you think is more compatible with Remus. Some nice answers so far!

Remus/Tonks. They just seem to complement and deserve each other. An Remus deserves someone who is a slice of normal life... while still being a little crazy. I love that in spite of all Lupin problems and past, and their age difference, Tonks loves him. Wonderfulness.

I can see the appeal of the slash pairing. The close, brotherly friendship the guys share (shared?) can easily be pushed a step further into romance. But, even if Sirius hadn't gone to jail, I don't know if he could have ever found anyone who could truly keep up with him, man or woman.

OhMahGawsh! DEFINATELY Remus/Sirius. I can't tell you how upset I was when Remus and Tonks "got together". I mean, I love JK Rowling and everything, but Remus was totally meant to be with Sirius, you know? Basically, I'm obsessed with slash and it's the only kind of fanfiction I read (though they are mostly Harry/Draco), so Remus/Tonks doesn't even qualify on my list of good ships.

I have a friend who only reads Remus/Ron, though. Strange, huh? She likes the 'time-travel' fics.

Okay, so I sorta bashed JK Rowling a bit in this reply to your question, and I feel really horrid, now.

I SWARE I LOVE HER!

(I just love Remus and Sirius a lot too)

WolfStar forever baby! Great question.

As some have already said, Sirius is dead...so I won't go down that road.

Hard choice. I really like Tonks a lot, and don't want to deprive her of her love...

But Charlie Weasley works with dragons, doesn't he? Long hair, dragon-claw earring...seems he's made a nice mate for Remus the Werewolf...having all that experience with fierce creatures, that independent streak, and being hardy yet intelligent.

Hi, Oh it's all part of the fun, I write my own bits and pieces some times, my friend was a big fan of the Hermione & Malfoy relationship, all though her stories were merely written and read for our own enjoyment. And I think that people wanted Harry and Hermione to get together because basically it would have been nice, I mean they grew up together. They had this relationship that kept them friends right through the series, Hermione was always the one who stuck by Harry, and I think that's why it was an obvious choice for people writing fan fictions to put them together. I know I did. As to Hermione and Draco, that was just a lot of fun, they were the odd couple that just seemed to work. I wrote about them after the Half Blood Prince when we saw more into Draco's personality, it was easier to write about him as a human being when I'd actually seen it for myself. I just thought it was funny and cute, I still love reading other stories on this. Ha, I've seen some truly excellent work. Basically, it's for the fun. It was popular before the release of HPDH, because people like trying to imagine what will happen. It's still popular today too, with people writing fan fictions that still have these great and often totally messed up relationships in them. Hope this helps. Harry Potter will always be better than Twilight. Thanks for asking a question thats Harry Potter related.

tonks and remus lupin belong together.
that's what i think.
because tonk loves remus so much, and although remus insists that she should instead love a younger and non-werewolf guy... i still believe that there's a love budding deep inside remus.
after all, there hasn't been any mention of remus' crush or any mention of a girl that remus really likes/loves.

and i also think that similar to a real life situation, it is better for one to be in the arms of the one who loves you most than be in the arms of the person you love but doesn't love you back.
