Why is it string bikinis and other clothes w/ little material cost so much?

When a company price their clothes, they have to cover all other costs besides just material cost. That include paying designer, marketing (advertising, branding....etc) distributing, mark-up for enterpruneurs...etc...etc... in the same sense you are not wearing just the material, it's the design and the prestige of famous labels that you are getting as well. Many clothes nowadays have a very low material cost component in their overall cost.

It's also to do with demand and supply, people who buy bikinis have such a lifestyle that they can afford to pay a bit more just for the design and labels etc.

If you want it cheap, super market bikini are still quite cheap. But would you like them?

Because the designers that create the clothing are the only ones that create small material for merchandise. Like Hollister, Pac Sun, American Eagle...all of these designers think that making little bathing suits and stuff is "IN", so because of that they know that if they put a big price tag on it people will buy it no matter what it costs.

because they are able to make the clothing in a poor country such as China for less money and sell it in the U.S. and rip u off by selling something for $50.00 when it was actually made for $10.00. it is quite amazing what our own people do to us. that is why everything is made in China because it is cheap to make and it is easy to sell it overpriced in the U.S. (cause some idiot will buy it)
