It depends on what she likes to do. Hand held video games, DVDs, music, drawing, and books if she likes to read. Ask her what she would like to have to keep her occupied and of course a pillow for a nap.

Give her a special journal to write and draw in. There is a children's book, Amelia's Notebook, that is written like a journal; it is a "fun" style for this age. There are other "Amelia" books as well that may interest her.
Another good thing is to get her an atlas for children - there are many good ones. She can track her trip and look for landmarks, towns, etc.
Etch-a-sketch is fun, too!

get an atlas of the states and get her to find where you are going, figure out how much further to the next town trace the route you took and so on.We did it when we were kids the whole way across Canada it was fun and we learned alot about maps and geography.

Depends on what she likes to do. Does she like to read? Hopefully reading and doing other things like that won't make her car sick. Does she get motion sickness? Something to consider..... and maybe plan for.
