the reason being prostagladins present in semen may lead to uterine contractions and abortion in first trimester and PROM and preterm labour in last trimester?

If you are trying to avoid uterine contractions it is probably a good idea to avoid, but in many over-term pregnancies it is encouraged. This can help jump start labor. But as long as the OB-GYN says its ok, go for it.
