The Democrats won't take back either the Senate or the House in the 2006 mid-term elections, and even if they did they would likely not try to impeach Bush despite his lengthy record of criminal acts.

The Democratic party is as complicit in the destruction of America as the Republicans. It just happens that the Republicans have led the charge, and they've been successful because they've had a clear and aggressive strategy, whereas the Democrats are hapless idiots so terrified of offending anyone that they have abandoned all possibility of leadership.

(I'm assuming you're referring to the midterm elections....)

It's unlikely that Democrats would impeach Bush if they take both houses, for three reasons.

1) The impeachment of Bush would make Cheney the President, so unless they intend to impeach entire swarms of would-be presidents, Democrats would probably be hesitent to oust one President for one with one with even more pronounced conservative posturings on most issues (except for the proposed "marriage protection act" amendment, which doesn't require the president's approval anyway).

2) Some Democrats are Bush apologists, especially Joe Liebermann, and therefore would not sign onto a motion for impeachment.

3) Impeachment would probably reflect badly on Democrats, making them look like self-seeking partisans only interested in scoring political points against Republicans. This would turn off independent voters and come back to haunt the Democrats in the 2008 elections.

first off, if bush was impeached, the VP would be president. A different election would not take place. And now you wouldn't make it a national holiday. Did we make Nixon's resignation (because of threats of impeachment) a holiday? What about the indictment of Clinton? Read your Amendments!!!

What Democrats are going to do all of this? The Democratic Party is becoming a joke. President Bush won't be impeached, he's committed no impeachable offenses. However, please keep dreaming!

Hope that ain't a real picture of you.

Impeach him for what? Disagreeing with you? I don't see any harm in that.
