I have a whole bunch of large flowerpots that the squirrels LOVE to dig up to plant their peanuts in. And then they dig them out again. (GRRRRR!!!!) To keep them from destroying the plants, I plant the plants, then surround them with broken (plant) pots, large driveway gravel, and sometimes wild rose stems that I have sort of woven together. This looks *awful* for several weeks, but it slows the squirrels down a notch or two. Sometimes I have to squish the pottery/rocks down a little so that they stick in the soil to keep them from being tossed out by an eager digger. This is not a good idea for starting seeds in the pot though. The only way I've found to start seeds is to cover the pot with an old sheer curtain.

Plant your bulbs in a coating of cayenne pepper.
Spray squirrel repellent directly on the plants.
Place a 2 foot band of sheet metal, forming a cone with the large opening downwards, around the trunk approximately 6 ft. off the ground. For this method to be effective, the tree needs to be at least 10 ft. from other trees.

The easiest method I have heard is to put chicken wire on the ground after spring planting. Cover with mulch and the plants will find their way through the wire, but sneaky squirrels cannot. Thus saving those bulbs they so love. If your plants are large now, try some netting tucked in and around your plants. Hopefully it will be hidden from view, but there to discourage rodents. Good luck!

You can't !!! Believe me, I tried everything, hot Cheyenne Pepper, even "brewed" some nasty smelly stuff I found the recipe for on the Internet....it didn't work.
Finally I borrowed a cat trap and put Peanut Butter inside....
I thought I had about 6-8 squirrels in my yard....hey, they all look alike !!!!....I stopped counting at 75 !!!!
Make sure you release them more then 1 mile away from your home, otherwise they come back!!!
I did beat them....the next year in spring, as soon as I saw a squirrel in the yard, I trapped them.
Squirrels only look cute - besides from being destructive, they carry diseases, rabies, etc.
PS. I tried the Blood and Bone meal...didn't work, neither did the Owl and ultra-sonic.!!!!

This is how I read the question (that blue font is hard to read)

How can I keep the squirrels out of my pants?

My mom used to plant marigolds around her plants but that might have been rabbits not squirrels.

Good luck with the pants, too.

There is a rabbit and squirrel repelent.

I've heard of Irish Spring soap working aswell as Kianne peppers.

Place two or more plastic owls around the yard or hang them in open spaces. They scare the squirrels and pesky birds away.

Use those pesky gum balls that fall from your neighbors tree and accumulate in your yard. They hurt their feet but wont really harm them. Just scatter them like you do mulch or lava rock around the plants.

Short of shooting them, try peeing around your plants (not too much in one spot), and I've also heard mothballs are an effective repellent to just about every rodent.

You could get an air-gun from Walmart or
Academy that shoots plastic BBs. There
are also various ultrasonic devices you can
set-up that are supposed to discourage
various furry vermin.
