With a good pair of adjustable clippers. They don't necessarily need trimming unless you are showing or just want that clean look. I have a pair of Wahl clippers I have been satisified with, although they are not adjustable. Opt for cordless clippers - much better for training than those you have to plug in.

The only time a horse really needs their whiskers trimmed, or shaved right off is, if you are getting them ready for shows, in which case, you use electric clippers!

Well usually when the horse gets shaved the whiskers are shaved too.other than that if your not shaving your horse you can trim them with a scissor.

do you clip your horses bridle path? when you do that you should also clip their whiskers. most horses dont like it the first few times, but they should calm down eventually...
