Ignore the others.
The Mazda 626 is the mother of the modern Mazda6. It is a very nice car, simple ergonomics, and realiable. They also have good resale value.
It is like a Toyota Camry or Honda Accord from the same time frame, just Mazda wasn't noticed much at that time like it is now.
I see them daily on car lots and they are normally the nicer of the bunch.
PS - those that state Ford makes the Mazda, they are backwards. Mazda makes items for Ford behind closed doors. Perfect example...the Ford Ranger was not built by Ford but by Mazda and was designed by Mazda as well. Ford was just the larger company so it put its name on the piece. Ford also owns Volvo but does not build their cars. In turn Ford is taking Volvo's technology and putting it into their cars. Mazda is the design center. It also produces the new Volvo S40 which is the Mazda3, the old 323, with different sheet metal.

It's very reliable and sooooo economical.
but if your looking for a small or medium car get a mazda 626 2L
Not the 2.5L V6. It's ok.. but not good in petrol consumption
Parts are very cheap and you hardly need to replace.
Mazda 121 to 929 is always good in Ergonomics.
If you have more to spend get a Mazda 6

The 626 is a very good car. My wife has a 2001 and it has over 90k miles on it. Still runs strong. We changed the oil religiously at every 3k. If you can afford it, opt for the V6 for extra pep and not much more in gas consumption.
But overall it has been a very good car for us.

mazda 626 is horrible in looks according to a friend who owned one , if you are just looking for a car to drive it would be okay but its not impressive looking if you ask me .

the 626 is a mazda it is bult by ford it is a good car and most ford parts will fit it.......

Yep,i ahev owned 2 of them in the past,and i loved them,i just got a newer mazda (the protege) that is the only reason i got rid of 'em.
