A few years ago, my cousin stopped by a bar despite her parents' refusal to do so. On the way out, just for the heck of it, she flipped in ONE quarter at a lottery station, and surprisingly won $10,000 for a college scholarship. Literally took everyone by surprise but I don't think her parents know about it even today.

Yes, I have a friend that has a relative that won the lottery in our hometown. It was the talk of the town for weeks. They received 11 million after taxes. Can you believe they still spend hundreds a week on the lottery?
They used to have to borrow money to buy food and pay utilities. They won by playing about $100 per week in tickets.
That was three years ago and they only have about 1 million left....or so that's what "they" say.

Two years ago at Christmas time we were strapped for cash. I won 500 on a scratch ticket. When your broke with two children, 500 is a significant amount.

My brother won $10,000 on a $2 scratch off ticket. He was shocked when he found this out, because it is his vow to only spend $5 on lotto tickets per month. I guess they paid off after 8 years since he began playing.

yes and it turned him into a real jerk, we no longer talk with him, he felt the world owed him something after winning. I don't need the problems that came with his money he is probably dead by now for all I know.
