I loved green day when I was in high school ten years ago. I still enjoy them but don't buy their cds. The are just right for mtv though and the kind of stuff that they play.

Definitely overrated. I bought their album Dookie when it first came out and it had a couple of good songs. Forgotten.
Then, like seven years later, poof, there's this great new band called Green day and I am all like, "What?"
The album American Idiot was pressed and pushed by the left-wing media in Hollywood and New York because there is a couple of songs on there that dog-mouth the President.
So what? The fact that little kids bought it was astounding to me. I am just glad that now, people are asking themselves, "What the hell were we thinking?"

They are not overrated. You guys should realize that they are that good. They are an awesome. And you only hear their music over and over again because they are a good band and their music deserves to be on that many times. Even though it does get annoying sometimes. They're sell outs but they still rock hard. I love them.

Totally overrated. Some of their stuff is decent but when it's played constantly and someone keeps telling you it's brilliant it's easy to get annoyed. Especially with Hurricane Katrina, everyone kept playing "Wake me up When September Ends" over and over.
I don't remember them being this popular when their last album came out, but when "American Idiot" came out everyone started thinking they were the freaking Stones or Beatles. They aren't THAT good.

Green day is the band you want to hear once in a while or when there on a music vidoe but mostly you just want to see there music video
