I dont need the phone feature (I have a brand new cell phone) and the mp3 isnt really necessary (I have a mini ipod) but it would be a cool feature to have built in. The one that I'm really considering is the Palm TX. Thoughts on this one? And, the price range should be around 300 or less(The maximum i'll pay for one is 400 or 450)

Well, if you decide you don't want the MP3 capability after all, I'd recommend the Palm Z22. I *love* mine - it does everything I need it to, and it's inexpensive enough that I'm not paranoid about losing it or damaging it. At first, I thought I might find myself really wanting the extra features the T|X has, but I haven't missed them at all. If you're shopping for your first PDA, I'd actually recommend going with one of the lower-end models until you're sure you'll use it enough to invest in an upgraded model.

However, if you're an experienced user and know that you'll need more than the Z22 has to offer, the T|X sounds like a great model, too. I considered that one, but ultimately decided it was overkill.

If you can afford the TX, by all means, get it since it offers a lot: Wi-Fi, lots of RAM (128MB), decent processor speed (312mhz) that can run programs and video, 320x480 screen that many Palms still doesn't necessarily have (usually 320x320) and includes the software that I think are great like Docs to Go pro.

The Tungsten E2 or the Zire 72 aren't bad either as they are cheaper in price. You may have to decide what is more important: the price, or the features.

Again, if you can afford the TX, get it since I think it offers a lot. But you won't be disappointed with the TE2 or the Zire 72, which has a nice built-in camera.

As an IT professional, I highly recommend the Palm T|X. I use it all the time as my MP3 player and to play old Nintendo games with a free "Little John" emulator download. And, its great for a quick e-mail or news check with any open WiFi connection. The Bluetooth connectivity is great for an auto-dialer from your contact list to a bluetooth compatible phone. Finally, I love the portrait/landscape capability for easy viewing of MS word, excel, or powerpoint files!

I have the Palm Zire 72.
It's great. It has a built in 1.3Mp camera, i believe it costs around $300 CDN. It has 32mb of RAM and Palm OS 5.0 It also supports Palm's wi-fi SD card so you can get on the internet.

Hope this helps.
