The main importance is that the students we teach today will be using these things in their everyday working lives and we are preparing them for the future. Incorporating ICT technology should be a natural extension to the classroom and not some set up artificial way of teaching using computers. Using all the technologies with ease means we can get trough more, motivate the students and utilise the experts (as in the students who have been using it since before they could walk and talk) in the classroom. Educational technology is providing students with the means to learn and extend their knowledge and skills, it may result in a paper pen essay or a powerpoint presentation. It my be an oral presentation using powerpoint presentation and digital camera pictures creating a short film with Moviemaker. Technology is part of it not the be all and end all.
