I have a damaged bearing boss and need to weld and remachine it. Its the bearing that comes out for the drive sproket.

you are better off buying a used or new part, but the specs might be had by contacting kawasai, sounds like you are screwed. However, the bearing can be used as a guide to get you close to what you need.

Run it with the drive chain too tight? not a lot you can do as the machining specs are not anywhere except factory.
Get everything welded up and take it to a good machine shop with the cases bolted together bare (nothing inside) they can use bearing holes to line things up. It may be a lot cheaper to look for used cases though
