I can not say I know exactly how you feel but I felt the agony and suffered the pain that you are dealing with. You mentioned that you seen a shrink, and as a kid I did too and I hated them but when I finally realized I was almost at the end of the line I knew deep down I needed help. I have been seeing a psychologist, and he is amazing, you really have to find the one that you like. That may mean that you go through a lot of different ones but in the long run it is an amazing feeling and I look forward to my appt every week. Your coping skills have been lost some where along the way and you have learned to deal with situations that you don't want to be in by avoiding them, for example isolating yourself in your house away from reality. You owe it to yourself to find that doctor that you like and get help because life is a beautiful thing and you need to be able to enjoy it insted of trying to end it. It is great that you can say, you are who you are because somewhere in there you know that something is wrong. PLEASE, you know you do not deserve to go through this, no one does, so why let it continue when it can go away, it can get better, and if you get help IT WILL GET BETTER!!! good luck to you. my email address is ciao_baby19@hotmail.com if you want to email me anytime at all.

It saddens me to know that you are so young and you feel this way but what really saddens me is that you've tried to take your life on more than one occasion. I think it would be a very good idea for your mom to take you to the doctor and have a complete checkup on you. You may have a chemical imbalance and that would explain why you feel depressed all the time and so confused. If you do have a chemical imbalance, well that's a medical problem and you will need the assistance of a physician to fix the problem. With the assistance of proper medication it will be able to put the balance in place that you. If you find that it's not a chemical imbalance you will at that point have to be willing to search yourself and talk to someone to get to the root of the problem. If you're not willing to help yourself others won't be able to help you. I'm hoping that you are sincere and will take the steps to getting the help you need.

I know exactly how you feel. I am 37 now but I started having depression when I was 4 yrs old. nothing major happened to me. I didn't have some big trauma. It's a chemical imbalance for me as it is for a lot of people. My whole childhood and high school experience was miserable because no one recognized or treated my symptoms. I got treatment in my 20's and my whole life is different because of it. Some depression in a teenager is normal but when there are suicide attempts something needs to be done now! Things would have been a whole lot different for me if I had treatment earlier. It doesn't mean you are wacko or strange or weird. It's something you can't control. Don't be ashamed of it. You can talk to your regular doctor about something like this. Don't put if off! You really can get this under control and have a great life!

You might have been to see a doctor before but did you go in with the right attitude. Did you go there because you wanted to change or did you go because someone forced you to go. Did you answer the questions truthfully or did you give answers that you thought they wanted to hear. Help is only as good as you want it to be. There is really only one person that can bring peace to your life and that person is you. You are the one that has to decide what is important to you. Just for a moment think what do you want out of life? Where do you see yourself a year from now? What goals do you have? What are you doing to reach those goals? You already listed some of your bad points now start listing some good points about yourself. If you spend more time thinking about yourself in a good way and less time thinking about the bad then you will slowly start to change things in your life. If you can't think of any good points then this is where a professional will be able to help guide you in the right direction. Like I said it really is up to you. Now how bad do you want to change or are you still just looking for attention, even bad attention is better than no attention.

I think you need to tell your mom that you need to see another doctor. You probably don't like them because they ask you a lot of questions and make you think about what might be bothering you. And I know this might make you uncomfortable, but in the long-run, it actually does help. It's not easy being a teenager these days, and feeling sad and confused about life is normal. But feeling depressed requires help that only professionals can help you with. The sooner you seek help, the better off you'll be.

Go help somebody else. Cheer up folks at a senior citizens home. Visit the sick kids in the hopital and read to them. The more you do for others the more you forget about yourself. It works every time. Just try it a few times.

You may need to be on an anti depressant med. Just be careful as there are warnings on them regarding teens. Maybe you could go see a counsellor. Talk to a responsible adult. There may be deep reasons.
