abortion... if a democrats were against abortion, it would be a long time before a republican won anything... there are more than enough people that vote on this issue alone to turn the tide permanently to the democrats...
maybe democrats should just say they are against abortion and don't do anything about it... like the conservatives do...
interested: believe it or not... just being a liberal, it doesn't mean you hate conservatives... although by the way some conservatives act, the majority of them hate all liberals it seems...
he is talking more about his actions and what party they are more consistent with... and I agree that I think they are more consistent with liberals...
normobrian: can you cite those... I think I missed them in my bible...

It's amazing to me how Christians want anything to do with the republican party.
George Bush was part Skull and Bones, an evil Yale frat that did pagan rituals and drank blood from the skulls of famous people. They are than ordered into a coffin were they have to tell everyone about there sexual conquests.
Bush and a number of republicans were caught on tape at the Bohemian Grove (see infowars.com or prisonplanet.com). It's a one week party were people dress like pagan Druids and do a mock sacrifice of a naked woman to an owl god.
Republicans start and create so many wars that it would make Christ sit back in shock.
With the republicans screwing poor and middle class out of a minimum wage increase Jesus must really be wondering why?
Everything Christ stood for the republicans seem to be against. Maybe they should spend less time doing pagan rituals and more time doing what Christ would do.
But most Christians don't care. They are willing to vote for people who will go to war to grab the oil, or get rid of any programs that help people, just as long as gay people don't get married.

Not all Christians profess loyalty to the Republican Party. I for one do not necessarily like them. I try to listen to all sides and I don't vote for someone strictly because they are Republicans, Democrats or Independents.
I agree with you that Jesus was a liberal in many ways. He did devote himself to the downtrodden and weak.
I do believe though that He did want people to live the kind of life that He professed.

Because, first off, the Democrat base tends to be virulently anti-Christian. And, sorry to burst your bubble, but we're not all about making money here. We just believe that looking out for the poor is not something the government can competently do. I'm not rich, neither are my parents, nor can we be considered "well off", either. And I believe in helping the poor, but I believe that's best left up to individuals to do, not some faceless bureaucrat, because then we see the actual people; they're not just meaningless numbers.
As to war? Well, nobody except a very few psychos (and despite what you think, that does NOT mean Bush or his administration), *likes* war. Remember, even God had to fight a war (against Lucifer). You need to clean out the bad guys, then rebuild the mess left behind, which is what we're doing. And your 'no aggression against your fellow man' doesn't acknowledge that there are quite a lot of people who do like starting trouble. So, maybe you need to really think carefully about what one's real motivations are, instead of just mindlessly stereotyping. Because there's nothing I hate being more than being stereotyped as some greedy, selfish thug. And I get that a lot, which, quite frankly, is what repels me about a lot of people who call themselves liberals. American conservatives ARE liberals in the literal sense -i.e. 'partisans of liberty'.

Absolutely not. True Christians come in all political persuasions, R, D, C and L. The phony "Christians" of the R Southern Strategy are killing the R Party, and well it should happen. Gingrich, Giuliani, and the like are not Christians. You don't do the things these scum buckets did if you are Christian. They are liars. Unfortunately, the R Party is led by liars and fools. Kay Baily Hutchison would be a huge improvement over these hypocrites. Here is hoping she retires Little Ricky Perry and takes a larger piece of the national stage after doing so.

Jesus had no political party affiliation...and if he did..you do realize that Democrat and Republican are American parties..and Jesus was not from America???
Do you think Jesus would be pro choice?
Look up St. Thomas Aquinas treatise on war....all war in unlawful, but some wars are just...read his qualifications, and compare them honestly to Iraq....or don't you care about the Iraqi people? Do you care that many Iraqi citizens are now able to find and bury properly their loved ones that have been stacked in warehouses for years because they were kidnapped for one bogus reason or another by Hussein? Noone likes to go to war...but sometimes it is necessary.

Because most Christians I know place a lot of importance on conservative issues such as right-to-life. Those issues are important, but personally I don't have a loyalty to either side. I vote for the person, not the party. As for war, sometimes it is necessary to insure our freedom. None of us wants war, but sometimes it's better than the alternative.

Please don't stereotype Christians as if all vote the same way & feel the same way about everything.
Jesus did his best to stay out of politics so it's hard to transfer what he taught in that day to present times, politically speaking.
Example; Because he saved the woman caught in the act of adultery, does that mean he would be against ALL death penalty cases?
And, if you noticed, while he saved her, he didn't back down on saying she was wrong. ("Go & sin no more.") I can imagine liberals screaming, "Who are you telling her what to do with her own body!"
He obviously wanted the poor to be taken care of, but does that mean he would have wanted the government to be in charge of it? And 50% of the rich man's income being confiscated to pay for it?
Which brings us to socialism. Jesus taught GIVING & SHARING. Socialism, as a politcial, economic system, would mean the goverment TAKING your money. That sounds more like Robin Hood than Jesus Christ!
He said you have to pay your taxes, but would he have voted for a politician who advocated fixing things by higher taxes?
He taught obedience to the government, but does that mean he wanted a big government?
I can't imagine Jesus being anything but disgusted by mid to late- term abortions, but the Bible is not specific on the subject. The issue of "when life begins" would have to be answered, first.
But as far as issues like trade unions and strong regulation of business, strong environmental regulations, animal rights & gun control, it's hard to say, exactly.

Jesus was a liberal, but he wasn't the kind of "liberal" as the word is twisted by those on the left today.
Many conservatives are very compassionate. Compassionate means giving YOUR money to those in need (who many of us define as someone who is willing to help themselves, not a freeloader). It DOESN'T mean throwing other people's money(taxes) at a government agency set up to help others, but spends most of it on red tape and the rest on people who have no desire to better themselves.

You claim to know Jesus' political affiliation? My guess is that you don't know anything about him other than he was a Capricorn.
Keep in mind that I'm neither a Christian nor a Republican. But I can spot a hateful accusation from a mile away...
