Sadly, I know the answer. In the comics whenever he is running around without his union suit or his civvies, he has on boxers. Nothing special, just boxers.
The useless knowledge is just astounding.

probably nothing, seeing how wolverine's character's depicted!!!
as for azreal's comment, the only reason they show him wearing boxers in the comics is cos they cant have him running around naked all the time!! (thankfully!)
