If they were your friend, they would not accuse you. They would have ask you if you knew what happened. They are not your friend, tell them that you are a better friend to them , than to take something that didn't belong to you.

drop the friendship. the friend obviously doesnt trust you, therefore they do not think of you as a real friend. any person in a friendship that doesnt think of you as a friend is not a friend at all. FORGET ABOUT THEM AND LEAVE THEIR BUTT IN THE COLD!!!

tell them you didn't take anything because your there friend and you would never do anything like that because your not that type of person. and if they don't believe you leave them alone and don't be bothered with them anymore

I remind them that I am not a theif. I don't take things from people. If people think I do they are just wrong and its their problem, not mine.

If your friend doesn't like you anymore because of it, then let it be. If she/he doesn't trust you, there is no point having him/her as a friend.
