I share a room in an apartment with a guy and we have this other roomate who has his own room. The guy in the other room was laid off about two months ago and he takes in enough unemployment, but is streched thin because he hasn't altered his spending at bars and is pressured by creditors. The other day I was ironing a white dress shirt for work for my job (waiter) and this unemployed roomate was sitting at the table doing stuff and watching me. That night I got home late and he was pretty much going balistic about a white Ralf Lauren dress shirt taken from his closet. He swore that it was in his room and that someone took it. I was shocked how crazy he was acting about the shirt. But we told him the absolute truth that we never touched his shirt. Days later his Polo shirt was hanging in the kitchen with a note saying he went into our room and found his shirt and that it was ruined with mildew. We were liars and he was deducting $75 from July rent. He is not on the lease at least.

If he's not on the lease, just kick him out
maybe give him like 1 or 2 weeks notice if you want to be nice so he can find another place? or just warn him that you will kick him out if he doesn't get a job by "x" date
he has no "ownership" of the apartment and you don't ever want a roomate that is demanding of you like he sounds
if you are afraid of him, talk to your landlord about changing the locks

Time to get rid of the roomy. Make sure you don't leave the place with just him there. If he isn't on the lease, tell him he's gone and stand your ground with back-up (extra friends). Change the locks immediately. Let the landlord know you had to do that and give them a key.

What a nut job - sorry to say that plenty of roomies are total fruitcakes.

You and your other flatmate should sit this guy down and give him notice - you may have to pay more rent until you get someone sane in - but it's better than feeling uncomfortable in your own home with a weirdo.

If he is not on the lease kick him out. If he refuses after a 2 week period call the cops.

Sounds to me like you better make the decision to either get out or kick this dude out because he will definitely cause future problems. He sounds like a leech too. Better decide fast what to do.

if hes not on the lease then try taking him to small claims court and ask him where the shirt is so you can see if it is messed up like he is saying it is

Call a priest or mental health professional. But I would move ASAP. That is scary he could really snap!

You are getting framed by who, you can figure that out. Don't hurt his feelings but tell him he needs to believe you why would you lie about something like that.
