Whoa there nighthawk! Innocent till proven guilty huh?
Might I mention Guantanamo?

Dissenting is unpatriotic, huh? Sorry your time machine screwed up and landed you in 2006 USA instead of 1938 Germany. Patriotism is NOT just flag waving and supporting your troops. There are lots of angles to patriotism. Let's see. Have you taken care of your poor needy fellow citizens recently? The clothes you wear, the appliances you use, were they made in the USA by US labor or did your money feed someone else? The "support our troops" ribbon you have on your car? Did you turn it over and notice that it says "made in china"?

And to the person who asked the question, yes we are allowed to disagree. I disagree with you. :-p

The one thing I have noticed is that both the Neocons, and the Progressives, seem to be engaging in dialog. Yes, at times that gets heated, and people can do stupid things when in the thralls of passion. However, from what I have seen, and read, the tone of hate is diminishing. Just one person's observation. I think we are going to eventually realize that we are all Citizens of the United States, and both a concerned about the nation. It is only a difference of opinion as to how best to serves the needs of the nation.

There is plenty of hate mail from both sides. Unfortunately, there are many morons on both sides of the aisle.

Please don't blame all conservatives for the words of a few. I don't blame the Democratic Party for some of the idiots in that party. There are plenty of idiots on both sides.

We need a calm discourse on the issues. Too often, when people have no facts to support their point, they resort to using insults. I can only hope that both sides are capable of such a debate. So far, the chances don't look so good.

Face it- hateful people do hateful things. My view is that they win every time we get upset about the stuff they pull. That's their game and we can make them look stupid by not playing it and offering people something substantial rather than more pointless negativity. Stop underestimating the intelligence of the voters. Stop pointing the finger at each other and start coming up with solutions. They have the last 8 yrs. to defend. Let's start moving forward now.

Neocons? Aren't they related to the Deceptacons from Transformers?

OK seriously, what's a neocon? I'm guessing that you're talking about neo-conservatives or neo-confederates or something similar. I've never heard the term before.

There are idiots on every side of an argument whose sole ability is to try to drown out what you say because they've got nothing to bring to the conversation. Their only ability to refute you is to keep you from speaking your mind.

Patriotic my ***. You guys are the ones who are saying that our troops are terrorizing innocent civilians in the dead of night (John Kerry). YOU are the guys who are convicting our soldiers of wrong doing before any trial is presented (John Murtha has to remember: Innocent until proven guilty, not the other way around). YOU are the ones who trash the President in a time of war and you ALWAYS highlight the bad things that happen and think that they are good things. YOU are the ones who always Blame America First. You are NOT patriotic.

I have no problem with anyone disagreeing with me. And if you really want to have a civil discourse, stop shouting. That is what you are doing when you type in all capital letters. And Neocon is such a negative label...so who is hating now?

"Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger."
-- Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials

Patriotic Democrats? That's an oxymoron. I know you'll have to look this up in the dictionary to find out what I said. For starters, in the dictionary - look under "O".
