I'm doing a survey for my massage students. I want to know what America likes most about recieving a professional massage. This has NOTHING to do with sex. This is on the up and up..........just massage therapy. Thank you!

I'm an amateur cyclist - a bike racer. I have had lots of professional massages over the years by RMT's and students and a few girlfriends.
I like a person who is able to get deep in the tissue but knows how to warm up and loosen up first. I like someone who has worked on fit people instead of old ladies and housewives, so understands where we get sore and exactly how much pressure we can take because we know how to breathe and relax.
I like a room where the temp can be controlled effectively - sometimes its too hot, more often its too cold.
I like someone who can budget the time effectively, so that I get a full, useful massage but the trouble spots get enough attention.
Thanks for asking, it's really hard to find someone good; there are lots of mediocre RMT's out there.

I appreciated being told to drink a lot of water before the massage!
Co-workers had bad memories of no information.
I also felt better that the therapy was given by a gay man, not to be obtuse, I was very comfortable with it. I did not feel threatened in any way and it was wonderful!
My massage was a full body, under the sheet, massage as a gift.
I can not wait until I can afford one on my own!

Just getting de-stressed and being relaxed.
Pairing up massage appointments with trips to the chiropractor really helps

My legs. I have very muscular legs and it almost puts me in a "high" like state when they're messaged. I once recieved a message as a gift and it was probly the best gift I have ever gotten. If you teach this you are awesome. Many people will be made happy because of you. Thanks.

I've never had a professional massage as my family always gives them out freely to each other. I like my back, neck, & shoulders massaged gently. Not too rough, please!
