sometimes being a good parent does inconvenience us. If you want to stop the misbehavior there should be communication between school and home. In the olden days when a child was disciplined in the classroom they also were in trouble with the principal, and then they had to face their parent. Punshied 3x for one action. Maybe kids would behave better if there were real consequences and follow thru.

From what I've seen detention is another way to ditch class and not do any work. What a waste of time and personnel. I say if the kid doesn't want to learn, send the kid home and let the parents deal with him or her. Teaching is hard enough. To have to deal with discipline problems, too, and having to send a child to detention so that someone has to babysit him/her in detention. Schools have better ways to spend their extremely hard to get school funding. The true punishment appears when they graduate and have to find a job or move on to college. What employer or college will accept a trouble maker? They do background checks and they do find out how one was like at school.

we have lunch detentions, after school detentions, in schools, out of schools, suspensions, but i think the bad kids should have to do something like for example if they threw food in the cafeteria then they should haeve to sweep the floors for a week that would make them not do it again instead of jsut sitting in a room for an hour!
