BV is not an STD. It's a bacterial infection similar to a yeast infection.

If it is in that area it could be, even if it is not an STD it can be passed, just as a yeast infection can be passed to a partner. If you get a yeast infection and you don't use protection your partner can keep giving it back to you if he doesn't get treated as well. This particular infection may not be the same way though.

not considered an std, but it can be passed from one partner to the other, however men do not have any symptoms they just give it back to you.
