i am an astronomy fanatic but i am not current on too many of the new discoveries that have been made. does anyone have a favorite website that could educate me on this?

Although this site isn't about learning astronomy, he has some fun stuff on there debunking the people who claim we never went to the moon, and some of the other nuts out there. He reviews movies and points out the mistakes they make when referring to astronomy and physics. Also has a lot of good links.

The Astronomy Picture of the Day is the absolute best website for a gradual survey of astronomy with injections of current hot topics.

This site keeps archives so you can look for topics of interest. There is a paragraph about each picture, liberally sprinkled with hypertext links to more information. Some of the links are highly technical, but many are not.

Check out the magazine websites, sky publishing, astronomy etc.. I personally swear by sky publishing.

Space.com is a very good one. I also like www.nineplanet.com for Inner solar system facts as well.
